May I have this dance?

If you like to dance, you’re bound to be familiar with this dilemma: there's a dance or a ball coming up, but you still haven't found a dancing partner. At “Be My Dancer”, a new agency based in Berlin, we’ve decided to tackle exactly that problem – with an innovative new service. The male and female dancers recommended by “Be My Dancer” are trained in all classical dance styles, so you can be sure of an eventful dance session with plenty of swing, élan, and fun.

Our dancers specialize in a variety of styles – from rumba, cha cha cha and waltz, to tango, salsa and swing. All of our dancers cut an expert figure on the dancefloor, plus they can adapt, if necessary, to accommodate less experienced partners.

You‘ll find profiles and pictures of all our dancers on the "Be My Dancer" website. They’re paid an hourly rate, and you should make your request at least seven days before the event.

When your dancer shows up, he or she will be dressed for the occasion, whether it's a private party, a gala ball, a wedding, or an anniversary celebration. Depending on the occasion, this could be a tailcoat, a tuxedo, an evening gown, or even something more casual.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re organizing an event or just looking for a dancer to accompany you. As every dancer knows, the success of a dance event depends on what happens on the dancefloor. With Be My Dancer experts at your service, you're guaranteed a lively atmosphere on the dancefloor. We’ll make sure that people get dancing, and that none of your guests sit around waiting to be asked to dance. People will rave for weeks about that great party where they danced the night away. We also offer low-key dance shows and dance classes – many of our dancers are successful tournament dancers and experienced dance teachers.

For some time, Be My Dancer has supplied dancers to Bohème Sauvage, Berlin’s famous Twenties-style party. We’ve also been involved in major corporate events, such as the 250th anniversary of Moët & Chandon at the Nymphenburg Palace in Munich.

One small note about the pursuit of happiness:
When you spend money, you should get positive feelings and experiences in return, rather than mere possessions. More than anything, happy memories are memories of happy moments. By contrast, the pleasure we get from receiving things is much more ephemeral (Ryan Howell, Kayla Barnes, Graham Hill).
With a flow activity such as dancing, there is a feeling of immersion in the moment that is different from a mere momentary sense of happiness. Flow is not just about having fun, it's not just a momentary feeling of excitement or happiness. Meditation, for example, can produce a state of flow. In his book Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience the renowned psychologist Mihaly Csíkszentmihályi writes that “Dancing is likely the oldest and most significant (flow activity), because of its appeal around the world and because of its potential complexity”.
One final warning: Be careful, dancing can be addictive!
